Graduated in Biology from the University of the Azores with a MSc degree in Applied Ecology from the University of Porto. Presently, the research is centered in functional ecology of flora and vegetation in coastal ecosystems, in the context of community assembly, with the purpose of addressing theoretical ecological issues and developing indication and ecological monitoring protocols. Furthermore, there is some participation in ecological restoration projects in coastal dune systems.
